About this site

An advertising-supported reference library covering GaN chargers, USB-C power delivery and fast-charging standards.

This site exists because the charger market is unusually difficult to shop in. Almost every product carries the same few numbers — wattage, port count, a list of protocol acronyms — and those numbers are a poor guide to whether a charger will work for a particular person. A 100W charger shared across three ports is not a 100W charger in practice. A 140W rating is meaningless for a device that cannot accept it. A compact 45W unit may suit a traveller better than a 160W flagship.

The library sets out to make those distinctions legible. Articles fall into four broad groups: explanations of the underlying technology, buying guides organised around decision criteria, side-by-side comparisons of specific products, and reviews of individual units.

How content is researched

  • Specifications are sourced. Where a figure comes from a manufacturer's own documentation, the article says so. Where a claim rests on a published standard or on a defined measurement, the article links to the body that defines it, so the statement can be checked rather than taken on trust. Specifications change without notice, and a stated figure is not an independently verified one.
  • Comparisons are measured where possible. Where units are compared in a controlled test round, the article states what was measured, how, over what period, and the limits of the method. Weight, volume, sustained output and multi-port allocation are the metrics used most often.
  • Results describe a sample, not a guarantee. A single tested unit may differ from another of the same model, and firmware and hardware revisions are common in this category.
  • Numbers are labelled. Manufacturer claims and measured values are kept visually distinct so that a reader can tell which is which.

Editorial independence

Advertising and affiliate revenue fund the site, and those arrangements are disclosed on the Advertising Disclosure page. Advertising never determines which products are covered, the order in which they are presented, or the conclusions reached. Where a product is not recommended for a particular use, the article says so plainly, including when that product is widely reviewed elsewhere.

Articles are published without individual bylines. Content is produced and reviewed collectively, and the publication name on each page is the responsible party.

Corrections

Errors are corrected rather than quietly removed. If a specification, measurement or conclusion on this site is wrong, please report it through the contact page with the page address and the specific figure concerned. Corrections to factual errors are applied and the page is re-stamped with an updated date.

Who this site is for

Readers weighing a first GaN charger purchase, households trying to consolidate several mismatched adapters onto one unit, travellers choosing between portability and output, and buyers and product teams who need the technical background on GaN power devices and what they change.
